Domestic Abuse Intervention program

       Our curriculum and program plan, in which a psycho educational approach is used, emphasizes abuser’s responsibilities for their use of violence.

       The group methodology utilized by our programs is cognitive-behavior using an indirect and direct confrontation style. We combine the Duluth with Emerge model, adding elements relevant to the client’s ethnic background resulting in an integrated approach.

       Avance believes that the relationship between family members should be based on respect for each individual’s value, beliefs, dignity and special role within the family and the community.

We are very active in organizing conferences and participating in domestic violence coalitions to promote education and intervention.

We charge one of the lower fees in Chicago.
